came to this country when I was just 8 years old. My parents worked hard day and night to give me the life they dreamed to have themselves. America is and always will be the shining star for my parents and many others like them. Because of America, I was able to get comforting education, I was able to open my eyes to new possibilities, I was able to move forward and know that there were opportunities for those who worked hard. I came with almost zero language in my mouth and today I have a Bachelors degree in English Literature forward perusing for a Master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language(TESL). This is what America is about, for me its my savior. I want to always remember it and experience it this way, I want many others to come to this country and witness the positive and feel safe to know there is in fact a future here. Yesterday was a stressful day for America, Yesterday was November 8th, election day. It was worrisome for many, and fairly easy for some. I myself did not have any clue who I was leaning towards, I was very unhappy with the two remaining “shining stars” that had a 50/50 chance of representing America. Today I am scared, today I don’t know what to expect for the years ahead of me and my people. Today our president changed and today we begin a new journey in the hands of a man called Donald Trump. I have many opinions, many thoughts but I will keep it simple and hopeful. May we have a wonderful four years and may we grow from everything every president has successfully pulled. May we not take steps back but really truly as promised, make America great. Today, I am a citizen an American and today I represent my country with hope. #dropsthemic
